Functional ACL Knee Brace For Beating Knee Pain - Orthomen

If you are suffering from knee pain as a result of a torn ACL that might keep you from beating last year’s time, joining in might not be as exciting as it should be. If this is the case, and you feel as though your knee pain is seriously holding you back, it might be time to think about getting some relief from the pain in the form of an ACL knee brace.

ACL injuries are very common, especially for runners. The ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) is a ligament inside your knee, and an ACL injury occurs when this ligament is torn, often because of rapid deceleration when running, or sharp, sudden changes in direction. Improper or heavy/stiff-legged landings or even sharp twists to the knee are also common causes for an ACL injury. When an individual suffers an ACL injury, the result is often pain and instability. Sometimes these types of injuries do require surgery to repair the tear, but other times a knee brace can help significantly.

So how can an ACL knee brace help? In a number of different ways. Firstly, whether you have had surgery to repair a tear, and are therefore using the brace for post-op rehabilitation, or if the tear did not require surgery and your doctor has suggested a knee brace, the end goal is likely the same. An ACL knee brace can not only help you to rebuild the muscles in the knee and redistribute weight evenly, it can also reduce further wear and tear by providing much needed support.

I got this knee brace for my husband that is a Line cook and is on his feet for 16+ hours. He has had some issues with his ACL tear after a minor car crash we were in almost 4 years ago. Almost daily be gets knee pains so I thought we would try this out And he received a knee brace from his Dr. That he hated he constantly had to adjusted because it would slip off. He had streached it after looking weight I guess. What we liked about this knee brace was that it had a 4 way compression system. Meaning 4 different ways he could adjusted the grip and to adjust the comfort. He did point out how comfortable it was and how he didn’t have it slipping off and constantly have to pull it back up. Just beyond happy with this knee brace and he feels good after a day of standing on his feet and cooking. Also he Has used several other knee braces that were itchy after a couple hours used and this he Has absolutely no complaints about it.

I have old ACL, MCL and cartilage damage, most of which has never been repaired and as a result, have a high degree of laxity in my knee. Quick de-acceleration and lateral moves, especially, have always been a worry as that’s been the trigger for re-injury.

I’ve put this brace to the test and am very pleased with how much stability it adds both to my knee and my on-court confidence level in being able to dig down into the corners and change direction as quickly as I need.

The build quality is first-rate and it is extremely solid. Especially for ACL injuries, the brace, if worn properly, makes it almost impossible to hyperextend that ligament – what a relief! Hope this helps you.
